British Values

Statement of British Values

At St Michael’s Primary School we aim to prepare children for life in modern Britain by ensuring that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed, and lived out through the ethos and work of the school.

Our school values are linked and unpinned by British Values; Democracy, Rule of law, Individual liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance of different cultures and religions. Curriculum areas provide a vehicle to foster understanding of these concepts and, in particular, our RE and PSHE lessons provide opportunities to deepen and develop understanding.

The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide experience beyond their local community such as sporting events, a range of visits and use of outdoor education centres.
