Sports Premium

At St Michael's we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our pupils. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.

The government introduced the PE and sports premium for primary schools in 2014. The additional annual funding is provided to improve the provision of physical education and sports in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spend on the provision of PE and sport within schools.

Our Sports Funding enables us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals and training our staff to deliver quality PE sessions.
