New lollipop person for St Michael’s School
The siting of the new school means that some children now need to cross the main road between Durrington and Larkhill. While the council is looking at a more permanent crossing facility they have agreed funding for a crossing patrol (lollipop person) to help children and parents cross the road.
They have asked for the school to find someone to do this role.
This person will work half an hour each morning and afternoon at the times when the children are walking to and from school. This will be paid at £9.00 per hour. Full uniform and training is provided with access to the council’s pension scheme.
This is a rewarding role with crossing patrollers becoming part of the school community, helping children and parents as well as being known to the public who use the roads daily. If you enjoy being outside in all weathers, this role will certainly wake you up!
If you would like more information about becoming a crossing patroller please contact Tazril Tamin at Wiltshire Council on 01225 713580 or ask at the school office for an application form.
