Hours: 37 hours per week, 8.00am – 4.00pm, Monday – Thursday and until 3.30pm on a Friday with half an hour unpaid lunch break. 41 working weeks per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Michael’s CE Primary School, we are opening a nursery from September 2018 at our new site located in Larkhill. St Michael’s Nursery will be initially registered to take 18 children between the ages of 3 – 4 years old, with a view to expanding the provision to 0 – 2 years. The nursery will open from 8.30am – 3.30pm and will offer various sessions to include 15 hours of free funding entitlement for 3-year olds.
We are looking to appoint an inspirational Nursery Manager who will become part of our school team and share the St Michael’s vision and values; to spark interest, ignite passion for learning and fire up ambition to inspire every child to recognise and exceed expectations. You need to be confident, self-motivated and committed to supporting our vision for all children.
We are looking for someone with experience to set up, establish and lead a new team. Experience of Safeguarding and a sound knowledge of the EYFS and other relevant legislation is essential. This is a very exciting role as you will play a key part in setting up this new provision, therefore previous knowledge of this is essential to the role. You will have proven experience in managing and running a nursery.
Applicants will need - a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position, and qualified to Level 3 in childcare, however ideally, we are looking for someone with an Early Years Degree, Early Years Professional or Early Years Teacher Status, or those already on a professional development path.
As Nursery Manager, you will:
- be completely committed to transforming life chances for children;
- be familiar with up to date academic research which underpins practice;
- oversee the day-to-day running of the sessional setting working closely with the Principal and other staff in the school;
- maintain and develop an outstanding level of care and education;
- manage and develop the day-to-day operational and organisational aspects including policies and procedures;
- implement the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring high quality care and learning opportunities for all children;
- lead and inspire a team supporting all employees' professional development;
- attend senior management meetings and contribute whole school ideas to enable the review of work procedures and strategies.
