Consultation to open a Nursery at St Michael’s CE Primary School, Larkhill

Further to the exciting re-location of St. Michael’s school from Figheldean to Larkhill, St. Michael’s CE Primary School have also opened a Nursery provision. We are required to consult local opinion about the opening of the Nursery and would value your feedback regarding the provision of additional early years places for the Larkhill area.

The Nursery has been opened primarily to serve new housing that is being built in the vicinity of the school, as well as to serve additional pre-school places identified and communicated by the Local Authority.

Whilst small numbers of children are already attending the nursery, it is anticipated that numbers will grow up to a maximum of 60.

The Nursery will be open to three and four year olds and the rate of increase in numbers will be determined by demand as houses in the vicinity of St. Michael’s are occupied. There is also the possibility of extending the age range subject to approval by the DfE and if demand requires it.

The Nursery is situated within the brand-new facilities at St. Michel’s CE Primary School Larkhill and has its own designated outside area.  The Nursery’s daily ambition is to inspire and excite curious minds, to develop resilience and to grow reflective learners.

We are consulting on this proposal for four weeks, starting today Friday 5th April 2019 and ending on Friday 3rd May 2019.

Should you wish to ask any questions or provide any feedback please direct these to before the consultation deadline.

We believe that we can offer a high standard of Nursery provision that will compliment the existing facilities in the area but also provide a much-needed increase in spaces for both the current communities and families moving to the area.
