Flags of Thanks

On Tuesday 4th June, every child at St Michael’s created a flag, as part of the “Flags of Thanks” National Project. The “Sewing Soldier”, from BBC’s The Great British Sewing Bee, explained how to make a quilt sandwich using the different materials, ready for the fantastic designs to be ironed on! Each child finished their flag by using the sewing machine to sew the different fabrics together. These flags will be added to the project, ready to be displayed in St. Thomas’ church in Salisbury, over Armed Forces day weekend. A big thank you to Neil Stace and the charity Alabare for giving us the opportunity to be involved in this project, to parents who helped to design flags with their children and for our brilliant helpers on the day.
