“I wish I could be a pirate every day,” said Year 1 pupil George, who along with his class mates, took part in pirate day at St Michael’s Primary School, part of Salisbury Plain Academies, recently.
Not only did the Year 1 and 2 pupils dress up as pirates they also took part in a treasure hunt, made pirate biscuits and ended the day with a pirate party.
The children had been learning all about swashbuckling pirates since the start of the Autumn term and this special day gave them all a chance to reflect on what they had learnt.
Everyone agreed it was a fun day. “The children were so engaged in the wide range of activities that we had planned for the day,” said class teacher, Lucy Lafferty.
Cody from Class 2 said: ““The biscuits were so yummy and fun to make.”
The children’s next topic will be learning all about dinosaurs.
